Spotted on visuell.ro, this traditional home near Bucharest, Romania is absolutely fantastic. Dreamy colours, warm coziness, unexpected functionality and the grandma-is-here atmosphere make the crib a wonderful escape for the weekends. Before starting remodelling the house, a deep cleaning and reinforcement was needed. As you can easily notice, the flooring is rough lacquered wood which gives the interior a natural, unpretentious look. Moreover, due to its resistance, it will not require mending in the near future.  Not to mention that it complements perfectly with the exposed beams and the timbered ceiling. When it came to interior design, the owners made the most of it. Enthusiastic antique collectors, they put in every room authentic pieces: ceramic colourful plates, carpets with traditional motifs, masks used for New Year’s celebration, Christian icons and many more. In a nutshell, this traditional home keeps the old spirit alive, looking well organised and relaxed.

Take a traditional plate, make a hole, install a bulb and you’ll have a lovely lighting item in your living area.

Lace insertions on pillows or simply added to wooden decorative objects are hot spots in traditional homes.

A modern armchair and an IKEA sofa integrate very well in this traditional home.
