Designed by SYAA, Simbio Bar is a project began in the spring of 2014 and passed through all phases of the rehabilitation of a building specific early 20th century. Located in the historical center of Bucharest, Simbio Bar is a place where you can spend pleasant moments at a brunch, dinner with friends or simply working. According to the architects: “The first eye-contact with the house was exciting: quiet, beautiful, dark green with filtered light with stoves smoked, mirrors pale and heavy furniture. In it, the spaces were already well defined: lounge with skylight, green stove room, small room, great room, staircase and the basement. It was obvious from the beginning that the bar will be in basement, the restaurant at ground floor and the kitchen and work area at the attic. ”
The architects wanted from the beginning to keep things light and bring valuable, and where necessary to come to completion with finishes as possible close to the era which the house was built. Therefore, they chose to work with an experienced entrepreneur: Cella Cosimex. In general they used simple materials and construction methods, except infiltration in walls. Paint and wall finishes were applied to solve specific problems of rehabilitation – moisture, consolidation, aspect etc. Almost furniture was designed and produced specifically for Simbio, and other decorative objects were found at antiques, warehouses and internet.
