If you want a house that smells like holiday all the time, bring the Palm Beach style inside. Most of the designers do not know how to define it, but they immediately recognise its flavour in floral and animal prints, vintage bathing suits, green posters and tropical pieces of furniture. Located in Florida, USA, the residence below mixes classic and contemporary in a relaxed Palm Beach style with a subtle play on contrasts, connections, and harmonies realised by Les Ensembliers studio. At the beginning, the designer worked closely with the owner of the house: “We kept the essence of the house while adding a contemporary tone through a careful mix of classic and modern styles.”, Richard Ouellette, designer and founding partner of Les Ensembliers explained. As you can easily notice, each room was decorated mixing elements from different styles and histories. In the living area, a black and white print complements classic lamps, while a modernised version of a Chesterfield sofa goes fantastic with a low cube-shaped table made of lacquered wood. But, the abundance of colours that define the Palm Beach interior design must be counterbalanced by lots of white surfaces around the house. Thus, a dominant lighten canvas was created and all the elements where exhibited freely on it. Last, but not least, the exterior features the same elegant lines, combing an imposing stone table with ceramic vases, candles and glass decorations. To conclude, the Palm Beach style makes you escape from the ordinary and create set-ups from another world!
