Made to resemble the layers of the American Grand Canyon, this eco-friendly collection was designed by Giancarlo Zema Design Group for Origami Furniture, a young brand that puts creative skill at the heart of its philosophy. Moreover, they want to respect nature and to create functional items of furniture. After a common process of recycling, a range of waste materials were changed into new products that form the Canyon Collection. Would you buy a coffee table, a lamp and several chairs made of cardboard? Why not? They would look lovely in an a lounge area at the office or in a waiting room of a big company. As architect explained, the curvaceous shapes reveal niches for keeping bags, magazines or small objects. The soft lines of the design clearly recall organic forms because the Giancarlo Zema Design Group promotes harmony between human habitation and the natural world. Therefore, recycling represents a way of integrating design in the site in a unified, interrelated composition.
