HoG Architektur has completed an addition to a historic wine cellar in Oberberg, Austria. The project is a remodel of a standard wine cellar structure into a modern residence. The historical wooden building with a gabled roof stands on a site which is dedicated as open land. According to regional planning regulations it is possible to extend the floor space to twice that of the original. The old building is to be preserved and transformed into the ideal arrangement of a Paarhof with separate residential and farm buildings. For this purpose a self-contained structure will be built opposite the wine cellar on the west side.
