Spotted on archdailyMill Valley Cabins were realized by Feldman Architecture studio from California, U.S.A. Located on a beautiful hill, the house offers spectacular views to its inhabitants, letting them admire the nature all day long and transform it in a permanent element of the house. The program was divided into two small cabins which could be placed lightly between existing trees with minimal regrading. As you can easily notice from the pictures below, the owners wanted more than a simple garden around the house. They opted for an original solution and built a totally green roof that melts with the environment. Besides its ecological improvement, the roof also provides additional landscape for the client’s love of gardening. The design of the house celebrates light-filled open spaces with a strong connection to the site and landscape. Traditional material palettes, such as concrete, wood, and steel, were used throughout the project in conjunction with new materials with an eye towards creating timeless forms.
