This new 3800 square foot private residence is located on a sandy oceanfront site along one of New Jersey’s barrier islands. This oceanfront vacation home along one of New Jersey’s barrier islands was designed by Richard Bubnowski Design. The house is used primarily as a vacation residence for a Georgia family that have spent their past summers along the Jersey shore.  Drawing inspiration from the classic Shingle Style beach houses of the Northeast as well as borrowing elements from the architecture of communities such as Seaside and Rosemary Beach, Florida, the aesthetic of this house is an eclectic mix of various styles that have been reinterpreted for contemporary living. The utilitarian functions of the plan such as mechanical, laundry, and storage have been stacked along the north wall, leaving the south and eastward facing walls open with glass.  This house was completed for the summer of 2010.
