Experience world-class service at X2 River Kwai

X-Float is a private residence designed by Agaligo Studio. It is located in Rural Rd Kanchanaburi, Thailand. Aside from the lush, mountainous landscape and famous River Kwai Bridge, Karnchanaburi is well known for its floating houses and rafts. Floating on the river, these distinctive structures greatly differentiate Karnchanaburi from any other provinces in Thailand. X-Float is a creation that enhances the fascination of the River Kwai’s floating houses with a different paradigm of design and comfort. The unique accommodation is designed in addition to the Project X2 River Kwai Resort.

X-Float’s design resembles a volumetric evolution of a raft, a primitive man-made floating platform, from 2 dimensional to 3 dimensional – to a livable unit. This makes X-Float a crossbreed of vernacular and modern architecture.
During construction, to completely eliminate disturbances to guests who were residing in the already operating X2 Resort, X-Float’s floating units were built offsite and only towed for installation once completed. Situated at the river bend, all units are oriented such that their river views are maximized and such that they are as much as possible shielded from the harsh, tropical afternoon sunlight.
The balance in load, air, and water is the critical underlying principle that keeps X-Float afloat and steady enough for guests to enjoy their stay without getting motion sickness. The main structure of X-Float is made out of lightweight steel framing, cladded with fiber cement siding and plywood.

The Manta Underwater Room by Genberg Underwater Hotels

Located in Pemba Island, Tanzania, the Manta Underwater Room is a room belonging to the Manta Resort.
It was designed by Genberg Underwater Hotels, and provides guests with a unique lodging experience.
The landing deck, at sea level, has a lounge area and bathroom facility. A ladder leads up to the roof which has a lounging area – for sun worshipping by day and by night you can lie back in the starlight and wonder at the extraordinary clarity of the stars, planets and above all, the edge of our own galaxy – the wonderful Milky Way – all seen without any light pollution. Sleep under the stars to the soft murmuring of the sea.

Then downstairs – the magical feeling of lying on a soft double bed surrounded by panes of glass affording almost 360 degrees viewing – watching the shoals of reef fish and exquisite, often rarely seen individuals visiting your windows. Some have taken up residence around the room, which affords them some protection from predation. For instance, three bat fish and a trumpet fish called Nick who is always swimming around and seemingly looking in !

Amazing Floating Hotel With Comfortable And Luxurious Rooms

We are very happy to announce this beautiful project, the very first Floating hotel. The aim of this project is to promote tourism on inland waters and to reach untouched parts of (often neglected) nature.

We strongly believe that the Floating Hotel represents a perfect solution for this branch of tourism because it provides a chance for travelers to relax and enjoy nature in the completely new way without the possibility to violate the natural harmony of the landscape.

When guests grow bored of the solitude of their private yacht pods, they can return to the central structure of the floating hotel, which contains the reception area, a restaurant, an events hall, offices, and a café.

The Floating Hotel is based on two main parts – central floating construction and apartment catamaran units. When passing through the central floating construction (which consists of the reception, the restaurant, the event hall, staff offices and the café), guests are reaching pathways that are connected to the catamaran apartments. Each apartment is actually an innovatively designed catamaran which can be easily separated from the dock and navigated, allowing guests to choose the perfect location for the vacation on their own.

The beautiful and modern units also have a small terrace from where we can enjoy the wonders of the landscape.
