Authentic lace can not simply decorate your house. It can become an item of furniture per se, gentle, delicate and appealing as spring mornings are. Realised by Romanian studio  S. J. ArtDesign, the collection below reforms the ideas we had about handmade activities. As you can easily notice, creativity has no limit if you dare to aim high. Raised by a talented grandma who loved to crochet, artist Silvia Junjan from Satu Mare (Northern Romania) enhanced the traditional works with a contemporary look. ‘I wanted to restore the old tradition in our home’, she says on jsartdesign.com. ‘I saw the furniture of the Crochet collection realised by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders, that was very appreciated at the International Miami Fair and instantly sold for $ 40,000 dollars, as I read in an article. I was so fascinated by the items of furniture he created that I promised to myself to try realise something similar. After wasting lots of materials in order to find the best formula to stiffen lace, I succeeded in creating the first collection – unique hand crocheted items, processed with epoxy resin.’, artist Silvia Junjan explained for Romanian newspaper Adevarul.
