Located in Kapuvár, Hungary, this holiday house was designed by Tóth Project Architect Office. The location itself is idyllic, being closed from the noise of the city, closed from the external world it is the island of quiet. For that, the architects wanted to create something special, something unique. The house is built lake-shore to get away from the city and the busy life it entails. A humble area of 50.0 sqm and the simple yet elegant design is meant to be pleasing but not overpowering. The home is to be enjoyed with the surrounding nature unlike the urban ideology of things being bigger and louder. It has a simple form, ground-plan, materials. Indeed, the building is a matchbox standing on one side of it which is pierced through in the middle. Simpleness appears not only in the form of the building but also in the moderate application of the restricted assortment of the natural and artificial materials.

Holiday Cottage_designrulz (1)The house is largely transparent making the home feel bigger than it really is from the inside. Also, it has the added benefit of fully immersing itself in the beauty that bodies the home. The building is protected from warming up by means of outer fabric roller-blinds, when they are rolled down the building has another life in operation and in its appearance as well: in such cases the terrace is totally protected so it is an individual outdoor living-room.
