We all love modern interiors for their smart distribution of space, functionality and freshness. But, every time a friend invites me in his recently decorated house, I am afraid not to enter into a show room of set-ups made ‘on the latest trends’. Regardless of what designers of the day may consider, contemporary houses fall easily into an elitist approach that may lack emotion. That’s why I was so happy to find in Ao Cubo Studio’s portfolio a house that did not forget that we are human beings. Take the exterior, for example. A medium size pool paved in blue marine tiles integrates perfectly in the wooden deck, while the bench equipped with colorful pillows invites the guests to rest a little. Inside, a sunny palette of colors makes the environment friendly and less sophisticated: red, orange and light brown are tone to count on in the living room or in the kitchen. Nonetheless, exposed bricks and unfinished wood turn you back to your roots!
