Do you like the interiors that emanate a fresh atmosphere, making you feel full of energy? When designers want to create something like that, they usually opt for green decorations: even if it’s a wall, a drawer, a pillow or a bunch of plants in a transparent glass, the insertions of green elements into your life will change the atmosphere completely! Trust us…and trust Matt Gibson Studio, too! The residence known as Shakin Stevens House is located Melbourne, Australia and it represents a green symphony adapted to modern requirements. The team that worked for this project had also in mind the principles of volumetric architecture design. Shakin Stevens House is an exciting blend of heritage and modern architecture:  the delineation of spaces is soft and less finite than expected from the street.

Behind the door, a contemporary display of spaces make you almost forget about the house’s Victorian heritage. The green spaces within and beyond the site became the focus, with the white cubes act as lens for these events.

The client requested a predominantly white interior with a feature highlight color. Green became an obvious choice, working in combination with the proximity of the garden.

In the kitchen you find different combinations of green – tones that animate the interior and create a fresh atmosphere.

No delimitation between spaces: a modern display of the interior spaces.

Green inside, green outside! As you can see, both interior and exterior communicate through one color.

The living room has a wooden floor: it warms the interior, making the space cozy and comfortable!

Some spots of ancient architecture…Victorian style adapted to contemporary requirements.

The wall paper brings an entire forest inside…it reflect the general theme of the house, that of a vegetal, natural interior.

Wide windows let the natural light come inside all day long!

The entrance – maybe, the most Victorian piece from the house!
