Suspended 50 feet above the forest floor this network of walkways (450-feet in length) provides a bird’s eye view of the forest, complete with a giant Bird’s Nest, Squirrel Scramble rope, and many vista platforms. Metcalfe chose to utilize the hot-dipped galvanized steel in multiple areas of the structure to provide a contrast from the surrounding trees. Steel grating on the deck surface and welded wire mesh railing panels provide a transparent structure that visually immerses visitors in the surroundings. o explore the arboretum from above, sit in a giant birds nest, and view the park from several vista platforms.
