Let the countdown of fine woods commence!  It is not the first time we are featuring wooden interior design. Generous wood accents are what define this article. The designers show us how versatile and beautiful wood can be. Wood has always been one of our most oft used materials both in architecture and interior design. It is not only valuable for its sturdiness, but also for its versatility. And it can completely transform a room when used in the right manner. All  interiors are simple and very cozy. Normally, it would be quite a task to gel in wooden walls with white interiors. But somehow everything just works here. There are two categories of wood when it comes to the hundreds upon hundreds of species of forestry: nature vs man made. From its unique knots and grains to stunning colors, what would our home be without wood?

Since 1938 its function is the one of city museum. The building was protected as a monument.

Gewad by Atelier Vens Vanbelle

This project brings together four new apartments which run perfectly under, over and trough eachother. The building was erected on the spot where once stood a burnt costume shop. Maarten bought the dilapidated house with his brother and parents, and began puzzling together with his business partner Dries. “There was a lot of thinking concerned. We started from zero, only preserving the rear facade. Not only an urban intervention, but thanks to the old rear facade the original dimensions of the courtyard were also retained.” ”Each apartment overlooks both the street, the central patio, and the courtyard, so that at any time of the day somewhere sunlight can come in.”
