This suspended circular cycle bridge with its 70-metre high pylon is a new landmark for the city. At night the slender bike ring is lit from below to further enhance that floating effect.One of the challenges of the design process was the spacial integration. In December 2011, after less than a year of construction, when the bridge was opened , the suspension cables vibrated so much that the bridge had to be closed for safety reasons. Hovenring was finally opened to be public on June 29th, 2012.
