Located in the affluent neighborhood of Juhu, in Mumbai, India, this beach apartment was designed by ZZ Architects. Existing site was an old sea facing apartment with private backyard facing the sea. The existing structure needed a lot of repair. The high walls of existing structure did not sufficiently explore the great view of the Juhu Beach.  The residence boasts a stunning ocean view from its terrace, a mere steps away from the tempting sand of its beach. The apartment had to be visually connected to the view beyond. The concrete railings were replaced by laminated glass railings which help in creating an unobstructive feel of the sea beyond. Large aluminium windows were installed to protect the apartment from the heavy ocean winds. The overall internal scheme needed to be spartan & muted, with a lot of white, so that the view and all the selected B&O speakers and furniture could hold its performance in the serene space.

The house integrates indoor and outdoor spaces by taking advantage of natural light & coastal breezes, providing its occupants with an inextricable relationship to the landscape and surrounding environment. The design of this house is centered around warm colours and luxurious material palette which exudes elegance and sophistication. Entire house is finished in white Makrana Marble. The Beolab speakers from B&O, integration of lighting and music in automation systems add to the quality and luxury driven look and feel of the home. A lot of emphasis has been given on final fit and finish which reflects the inimitable style of ZZ Architects. By blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior, the house seamlessly connects with the ocean beyond and is truly a relaxed and comfortable personal retreat for the homeowners.
