Suishouen House is a 2012 project located in Nagoya, Japan. This modern residence designed by Tomoaki Uno Architects was inspired by two very different architectural icons: Katsura Imperial Villa and Farnsworth House

Katsura Imperial Villa was built in the mid 1600’s and has influenced the likes of Le Corbustier and Bauhaus founder, Walter Gropius, and the Farnsworth House by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe; a home built in the 1940?s that is still considered one of the best examples of modernist design.

This house was designed for a large family. The first floor and the basement floor is reinforced concrete and the second floor is steel.
