Would you like a house that matches a modern mood? The one we spotted on  bnab.ro can represent an inspiring alternative if you love minimalist patterns, simple lines and functional materials used to create the maximum effect. The house is located in Bucharest, Romania and it was realized by architects Liviu Ion and Iulia Iatagan between 2008-2010.    One thing we love about it is the way glass integrates in the structure, offering large, lighted areas for the inhabitants of the house.  In fact, the client insisted on making the house in general and the great room in particular as transparent as possible. Both living room and dining room “extend” in the garden because glass walls envelope the first level of the house, while the second offers privacy and reclusion in 3 bedrooms and a studio.

Using as much glass and achieving as much transparency as possible was the order of the day.

The extensive use of glass on the front side of the home captures beautiful views.

The client wanted a place that was relaxed but contemporary, comfortable but cutting edge — a place where he could entertain and feel at home.

Architectural glass is most typically used as transparent glazing material in the building envelope, including windows in the external walls.
