Does your roof have the potential to be a terrace? If so, look at the house we found on www.svenskfast.se and steal some pieces of advice! First of all, keep in mind that a terrace is potentially viable if you have an existing outside space that can be reinforced to be load-bearing, and a window that can be changed for a door. It’s the most common way to create new access to the terrace. As you can see from the picture below, it helps a lot if you have a flat roof. It’s cheaper and easier to work with, but even if your roof is pitched there are options to realize a terrace on top of the building. An external wall can be built up to create a flat surface or you could get an ‘inverted dormer’ – that’s where they chop a chunk out of the roof. When it come to furniture, I advise you to opt for lightweight pieces that are easy to maintain and assemble them on the terrace. And, don’t forget about the lighting objects: they are the key to creating atmosphere after dark!
